 Monmouth Masonic Temple

On the 7th May 2016 members and friends enjoyed a tour and talk of what was once 5 medieval buildings and the development over the centuries to what it has now become. At the end of tour we were provided with afternoon tea.


Clodock Mill

On the 22nd May 2016 members and friends had a fascinating visit and informative talk about the history and the workings of the mill. The present owners showed what restoration work they had carried out over many years before it became a working mill again. Tea and cakes were enjoyed by all at the end of the visit.


Members Summer Party

Rockfield Park, Monmouth was the venue for this years annual summer party. The owners, Mr and Mrs Molyneux showed us round the house and grounds describing what they had to undertake to achieve its carefully restored state.



GHG summer activities were completed with a walk led by Ken Palmer following on from his talk in February on the mills and leats of the river Monnow. Starting with a talk on the history of Llangua church we then visited old mill sites between Llangua and Kentchurch. A meal at the Bridge Inn completed this years summer activities.
